The Create A Better Day Café will hold its next session this Sunday, June 28, in Marlborough.
The Café offers an opportunity for people caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or other dementia a chance to get some needed relief while still spending time with your loved one and other caregivers in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
Held at Pleasantries Adult Day and Consulting Services (195 Reservoir Street, Marlborough, MA), the Café encourages socialization with other caregivers and loved ones where you can just be yourself. It provides an opportunity to get out with your loved one and have an enjoyable afternoon.
Pleasantries owner and director Tammy Pozerycki describes the Café as “a time to step out of the daily routine, leave the disease at the door, and enjoy a positive experience in a supportive environment. The afternoon will consist of entertainment, conversation, music, arts, games, refreshments, and most importantly, laughter.”
There is no cost to participate in the program, which is open to anyone at any stage of the disease process who is accompanied by friends, family and loved ones.
The next session for the Café will be on Sunday, June 28 from 1-3 p.m. and a visit from pet therapy dogs Kodiak and Athena is planned. Call Tammy at 508-481-0809 for more information. Due to the possibility of cancellation due to inclement weather or illness, please call prior to attending and listen to voice message for any updates.
