Information and resources that support your role in caring for a loved one.
Pleasantries Adult Day and Consulting Services continues to provide support to those caring for a loved one with Alzheimer`s or another dementia, but this month Pleasantries’ “Create A Better Day Café” will hold its monthly session a week early.
The Café is usually held on the fourth Sunday of each month, but due to a scheduling conflict this month’s session will be held a week early on Sunday, June 19, from 1-3 p.m. in Marlborough. This session will feature a visit from Kodiac and Athena, Burnese Mountain Dogs from Therapy Dogs International, along with music from violinist Lynne Canavan.
The Café offers an opportunity for people caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or other dementia a chance to get some needed relief while still spending time with your loved one and other caregivers in a relaxed and welcoming setting. Held at Pleasantries Adult Day and Consulting Services (195 Reservoir Street, Marlborough, MA), the Café encourages socialization with other caregivers and loved ones where you can just be yourself. It provides an opportunity to get out with your loved one and have an enjoyable afternoon.
Pleasantries owner and director Tammy Pozerycki describes the Café as “a time to step out of the daily routine, leave the disease at the door, and enjoy a positive experience in a supportive environment. The afternoon will consist of entertainment, conversation, music, arts, games, refreshments, and most importantly, laughter.”
There is no cost to participate in the program, which is open to anyone at any stage of the disease process who is accompanied by friends, family and loved ones.
