Golden Pond Assisted Living in Hopkinton continues its slate of informational events throughout February, giving area caregivers opportunities to learn about issues that can affect their caregiving roles.

On Monday, Feb. 9, information about programs and benefits for veterans will be the subject of “Veteran’s Talk: What Is the Veteran’s Aid and Attendance Benefit and Who Is Eligible?” The talk will be presented by John Givner, Diract or Veteran Services for Hopkinton. The event will run from 6:30-8 p.m.

On Wednesday, Feb. 18, Deb Tishler, RN from Brookhaven Hospice will present, “An Introduction to Hospice: What You Need to Know to Comfort Your Loved One.” That will run from 6:30-8 p.m.

Finally, on Thursday, Feb. 26, Golden Pond will host, “Avoiding Falls Talk: How to Minimize the risk of Falls.” That will be presented by Caretakers Physical and Occupational Therapy, Optimum Balance and run from 3-4:30 p.m.

Golden Pond Assisted Living is located at 50 West Main Street in Hopkinton. Open house tours of the residence are also being offered on Monday, Feb. 9 from 6:30-8 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 21 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Update 2/9: The veteran’s talk forum and open house scheduled for Feb. 9 have been cancelled due to the ongoing snow storm.
