CAREGIVING CHRONICLES

Information and resources that support your role in caring for a loved one.

This spring, HESSCO, the Aging Services Access Point for MetroWest communities Medfield, Millis and Norfolk, will be offering Powerful Tools for Caregivers, a free six-week educational program for family members who are caring for aging relatives or adults with disabilities.

Powerful Tools for Caregivers is a class designed to provide family caregivers with the skills you need to take care of yourself. You’ll learn to:

– Reduce stress
– Improve self-confidence
– Balance your life
– Better communicate your feelings
– Increase your ability to make tough decisions
– Locate helpful resources

The free class begins on Tuesday, April 28. Classes meet each Tuesday from 1-3 p.m. on April 28, May 5, May 12, May 19, May 26 and June 2. Classes will be held in the Pinnacle Room at the Walpole Public Library (143 School Street, Walpole, MA 02081).

While classes are free, it is important to arrive on time and make every effort to attend all six sessions as classes build upon each other.

To register or for more information, contact HESSCO caregiver specialist Kristin Heuwold at kheuwold@hessco.org or 781-784-4944 x238.
