HESSCO’s annual Caregiver Day headlines busy month of events ahead
HESSCO, the Aging Services Access Point for several MetroWest communities, will be holding its 11th annual Caregiver Day of R&R (Resources and Relaxation) on Thursday, Sept. 24.
This year’s event features a theme of “Technology in Caregiving,” and will take place 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lake Pearl Luciano’s (299 Creek Street, Wrentham, MA). Alice Bonner, Ph.D., the Secretary of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs, will offer welcoming remarks, while the keynote presenter will be Lisa D’Ambrosio, Ph.D., research scientist at the MIT Age Lab. Her presentation will inform attendees on how technology – adaptive equipment, telehealth monitoring, smartphone apps and online resources – can be supportive in the caregiving role.
There will also be pampering treatments for caregivers in the event’s Relaxation Room and a variety of interesting breakout sessions throughout the day. Cost is $15, which includes both breakfast and lunch. For more information or to register, call HESSCO at 781-784-4944 or email HESSCO Family Caregiver Specialist Kristin Heuwold at kheuwold@hessco.org.
