Pleasantries Adult Day and Consulting Services continues to provide support to those caring for a loved one with Alzheimer`s or another dementia.

Pleasantries’ “Create A Better Day Café” will hold its next session on Sunday, September 25, from 1-3 p.m. in Marlborough.

This month, the Create a Better Day Café will feature Glenn Hillard playing the keyboard and singing, with attendees invited to sing along.

Pleasantries has also teamed with the Sudbury Senior Center and co-sponsors Traditions of Wayland and Right at Home to offer “The Caring Café,” which will hold its next on Friday, October 7, from 9-11 a.m. in Sudbury.

This session will feature a performance from magician Dennis Blanchard, who specializes in table-side magic and has over 15 years experience in professional close-up magic.

These Cafés offer an opportunity for people caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or other dementia a chance to get some needed relief while still spending time with your loved one and other caregivers in a relaxed and welcoming setting. The Cafés encourage socialization with other caregivers and loved ones where you can just be yourself. It provides an opportunity to get out with your loved one and have an enjoyable morning or afternoon.

Pleasantries owner and director Tammy Pozerycki, MA, CADDCT, CDP, describes the Café as “a time to step out of the daily routine, leave the disease at the door, and enjoy a positive experience in a supportive environment. The afternoon will consist of entertainment, conversation, music, arts, games, refreshments, and most importantly, laughter.”

There is no cost to participate in the program, which is open to anyone at any stage of the disease process who is accompanied by friends, family and loved ones.

The Create A Better Day Café is held on the fourth Sunday of each month at Pleasantries Adult Day and Consulting Services (195 Reservoir Street, Marlborough, MA). The Caring Café is held on the first Friday of each month at the Sudbury Senior Center (40 Fairbank Road, Sudbury, MA). It is facilitated by Information and Referral Specialist Anne Manning, LMHC and Pozeryycki. Please RSVP by calling 978-443-3055.
