f you or your parent is a veteran or is the surviving spouse of a veteran, Orchard Hill Assisted Living in Sudbury is hosting and informational “Veterans Benefit Workshop” on Monday, September 11.

The workshop will cover issues such as who qualifies and when to apply for a Veteran’s Affairs pension.

With honorable active military service of at least 90 days with at least one day during a period of war, a veteran with a spouse may qualify for as much as $2,127 per month. A single veteran may qualify for as much as $1,794 per month. A well veteran with an ill spouse may qualify for as much as $1,408 per month. And a surviving spouse may qualify for as much as $1,153 per month.

The forum will be held at Orchard Hill Assisted LIving (761 Boston Post Road, Sudbury, MA 01776) from 4-5 p.m. on September 11. It is presented by Patty Servaes, founder of Elder Resource Benefits Consulting. ERBC in not affiliated with the VA and is not a veterans service organization.
