Pleasantries Adult Day and Consulting Services continues to provide support to those caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or another dementia.
Pleasantries’ “Create A Better Day Café” will hold its next session on Sunday, January 24, from 1-3 p.m. in Marlborough.
The Café offers an opportunity for people caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or other dementia a chance to get some needed relief while still spending time with your loved one and other caregivers in a relaxed and welcoming setting. Held at Pleasantries Adult Day and Consulting Services (195 Reservoir Street, Marlborough, MA), the Café encourages socialization with other caregivers and loved ones where you can just be yourself. It provides an opportunity to get out with your loved one and have an enjoyable afternoon.
Pleasantries owner and director Tammy Pozerycki describes the Café as “a time to step out of the daily routine, leave the disease at the door, and enjoy a positive experience in a supportive environment. The afternoon will consist of entertainment, conversation, music, arts, games, refreshments, and most importantly, laughter.”
There is no cost to participate in the program, which is open to anyone at any stage of the disease process who is accompanied by friends, family and loved ones.
Pleasantries also hosts an Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group on the second Monday of each month from 6-8 p.m.
If you are caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s, attending this powerful resource group could be very beneficial. The group provides information and education about Alzheimer’s. Caregivers share stories along their caregiving journey, offering support and making connections with other members.
Pre-screening by phone is required prior to attending.
