CAREGIVING CHRONICLES

Information and resources that support your role in caring for a loved one.

CaregivingMetroWest.org was launched just over six months ago, and in that short period of time thousands of users have already utilized the information and resources we have provided for area family caregivers.

But it is our mission to continue to expand that audience and provide helpful information and support to as many people as possible. In that quest, we’ve been helped by a few people in the past week that we would like to acknowledge.

Last Tuesday, we were invited to the State House by Senator James Eldridge, and after introductory remarks by Senator Eldridge and Representative Kate Hogan, we demonstrated the many features of the site in a presentation for area legislators and their staffs.

Later in the week, we demonstrated the site again, this time for the advisory board for BayPath Elder Services, Inc.’s Money Management Program. After the demonstration, board member Anthony Battista, the Vice President, Marketing for St. Mary’s Credit Union, generously offered to help promote the site. Battista is helping raise awareness for our program with a message on the digital billboard on the sign at St. Mary’s Credit Union’s Northboro Road branch in Marlborough.

Caregiving MetroWest would like to express our gratitude to Senator Eldridge, Representative Hogan, Tony Battista and the rest of the Money Management board for their generosity and support.

We would also like to take this opportunity to once again thank some of the other organizations that have helped us bring this resource to area family caregivers. In addition to the generous funding provided by the MetroWest Health Foundation to create, build and launch the site, support has come from a number of local businesses and organizations.

Around the Clock Home Healthcare and Richard Carr and the Carr Financial Group have been on board as sponsors since Day 1, and the law firm of Mirick O’Connell has recently agreed to become a sponsor in 2015. It is through generous support like that, that we hope to continue to bring needed information, resources and support to family caregivers throughout MetroWest.
