Information and resources that support your role in caring for a loved one.
Need to speak to someone by phone about a caregiving issue? There are options to contact someone directly for help.
Our friends over at Wellist are offering an educational opportunity for family caregivers with a webinar entitled, “How to Caregive with Confidence” on Friday, May 27 from 12-1 p.m.
If you’re unfamiliar with webinars, it’s short for web-based seminars featuring a presentation, lecture or workshop that is transmitted over the Web using video conferencing software. Here’s how Wellist describes this webinar:
“You’ve heard it before: Caregiving is a full time job. And now you’re learning why, firsthand.
And to be honest, it’s a little overwhelming — where do you even begin?
No matter where you are on your caregiving journey, this webinar is for you. Get important steps you can take to provide the best care for yourself and for your loved one.
And learn how to grow your confidence in your caregiving.
We’ll begin with a presentation by Dr. Madhuri Reddy, the Chief Medical Officer and Co-Founder of CareAcademy (an online service that coaches both professional and family caregivers).
She will answer questions like:
– Where can I find resources for support?
– How do I get organized?
– How do I take care of myself as a caregiver?
Because everybody’s caregiving experience is a little different, we’ll end with an open question-and-answer session.
You can ask Dr. Reddy and our special guest, Liz O’Donnell, any and all of your caregiving questions.
Liz has years of experience as a family caregiver and founded the website WorkingDaughter, a website for women balancing a career and caring for an aging parent.
Can’t make the webinar? Don’t worry — we’ll make sure to send you a recording if you sign up.
Until then, make a list of your most pressing and important questions and keep those handy for the question and answer section of the webinar.”
