CAREGIVING CHRONICLES

Information and resources that support your role in caring for a loved one.

The challenges facing family caregivers can be especially daunting to the many caregivers who have to balance caregiving and family duties with work responsibilities.

No one knows that better than the good people at EMC, one of MetroWest’s largest employers. The cloud computing, data storage, IT security and big data company supports its employees who are caring for loved ones through its Caregivers Employee Circle. The CARE (Caregivers Awareness and Resources for Employees) organization provides resources and information about caregiving-related topics to EMC employees and serves as a central point of contact for all kinds of caregiving topics, as well as being a liaison with EMC Benefits.

Now, CARE is extending its outreach efforts to help caregivers throughout MetroWest and beyond with a generous donation of $400 to Caregiving MetroWest. This donation will help us to continue adding to the information and resources provided on the site and continue our outreach efforts to raise awareness of the needs of family caregivers and the support they can find on CaregivingMetroWest.org.

Caregiving MetroWest has worked with EMC’s Caregiver Employee Circle throughout the past year, visiting EMC’s facility in Hopkinton last December and this past July at CARE’s Take Care of Yourself resource fairs. Caregiving MetroWest will be on hand again this December for the next CARE resource fair, which will be held at EMC’s Franklin facility on Dec. 3. BayPath Caregiver Specialist Alicia Rego also led a webinar on information and resources for caregivers at EMC last summer.

All of us at Caregiving MetroWest look forward to continuing to work with EMC and its Caregivers Employee Circle in the future and would like to express are gratitude for their generous donation, which will help us continue to provide family caregivers with the information, resources and support they need. We would especially like to thank CARE President Phyllis Doig and Joanne Marcotte for their tireless efforts to support caregivers and their support of Caregiving MetroWest.
