At Caregiving MetroWest, we are constantly on the lookout for new information and resources that could be of value to the family caregivers we serve.

Many of these resources are unique services that do not fit neatly into the resource categories we have set up in the Resources by Type section of the website. That was why we created the Additional Resources page, giving us a place to list those more unique offerings and giving our users more helpful information.

The Additional Resources page is updated frequently, so be sure to check it out often. In the past week, we have added two new listings to the page.

First, there is now information on Independent Living Centers. These organizations are an important resource for people of all ages with disabilities. The MetroWest Center for Independent Living serves the bulk of our communities here in MetroWest, while the Center for Living and Working covers the remaining communities closer to Worcester.

The MetroWest Center for Independent Living works to promote access and change within society and responds with programs and services to meet the needs of people of all ages with a wide range of disabilities.

Another recent entry to the Additional Resources page is a section on Senior Move Managers. These organizations are a fee-for-service resource that provides older adults and their caregivers with help in almost all aspects of moving, helping with downsizing, estate dispersal and pre-planning moves, among other services.

In MetroWest, Smooth Transitions of Massachusetts offers these services and is a member of the National Association of Senior Move Managers.
