Home Delivered Meals

Elder Nutrition Program, HESSCO Elder Services

HESSCO Elder Services’ nutrition program operates a Meals on Wheels program serving the south Norfolk County area. Home delivered hot lunch meals are available five days a week to people 60 years of age or older, and their spouses, who have limited mobility and are unable to prepare meals because they lack the physical, emotional or cognitive ability to attend a meal site or prepare a nutritious meal.

Transportation

Transportation Services offered by the Medfield Council on Aging

The COA provides transportation for shopping and local medical appointments to any Medfield senior. The available vans seat 8, 11 and 14 passengers, respectively, with the 8 and 14 passenger vans being handicap accessible. The COA helps determine which rider requires more assistance and if the van lift will provide safer access to the vehicle.

The Town of Medifield offers rides to older residents to go to the grocery store or run other errands. This transportation services is available to any senior requesting a rid Council on Aging events could alter availability.

General operating hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

Grocery store trips as scheduled tp go to Shaw’s on Mondays, Market Basket on Tuesdays, and Roche Bros. on Friday,

The van is scheduled for errands on Tuesday and Thursday.

Costs: Rides to The Center are free to Medifield residents, a $2 donation is suggested for trips to the grocery trips and errands.

The Medical Essential Transportation program (MET), provides door-to-door rides for pre-scheduled medical appointments. These rides are offered through the COA Volunteer Driver Program, but may use other COA vehicles.

YOU CAN NEVER SCHEDULE TOO EARLY! There is no guarantee that a ride will be available for last minute schedulers. NO CALL CAN BE LATER THAN 5 BUSINESS DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR APPOINTMENT Please call between Tuesday and Thursday before 3:00 p.m.
